Adult bedbugs are small, brownish insects that typically measure about ¼ inch in length, resembling an apple seed. They have flat, oval bodies and are wingless.

 nymphs (young bedbugs) are less than 5 millimeters (mm) in length, whitish-yellow or clear-colored, and invisible without a microscope or magnifying glass.

 Their colors can change from translucent at birth to reddish-brown to a darker hue after feeding on blood. Bedbugs are known for their distinctive horizontal stripes on their abdomen.

Bedbug eggs are tiny barrel-shaped, pearl-colored specks, no bigger than the head of a pin and an eye-like spot may develop after a few days.

 Additionally, bedbug bites often appear as small, red, itchy welts on the skin.

How Fast to Bedbugs Reproduce?

Answer:

Bedbugs have a lifespan of about six to twelve months. 

They reproduce swiftly, with a female capable of laying up to five eggs daily, or up to 1,800 eggs during her lifetime. 

Bedbugs emerge from their protective eggshell within 10-14 days.

It takes bedbugs around 35 days for them to mature and start breeding.

Bedbugs inbreed, meaning they will breed with siblings, parents, or other readily available relatives.

What Health Concerns Do Bedbugs Bring?

Answer:

Contrary to what some people think, bedbugs do not spread illness or diseases. 

Everyone reacts differently to bedbug bites. Some people may not have any reaction at all, while others are severely allergic. 

Bites can be itchy, and excessive scratching and breaking the skin can lead to a secondary skin infection.

(To relieve some of the itching use over-the-counter (OTC) hydrocortisone cream or anti-itch creams.)

Aside from a major allergic reaction and sleeplessness, bedbugs are ultimately harmless.

Bedbugs only feed on blood. Almost exclusively on human blood however there have been cases of them feeding on pets.

 Bedbugs can’t run, jump or fly, in fact their cursing speed is about 3-4 feet a minute, which is why they are notorious hitchhikers.
